HEARTSAVER BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS

Course Description
The HEARTSAVER BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS Course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific bloodborne pathogens training.

Bloodborne pathogens training are a general OSHA Standard for anyone with a real potential for occupational exposure. Students will learn how to protect themselves and how to act appropriately when a bloodborne pathogens exposure occurs, as well as, how to clean up after and how to properly report any bloodborne pathogens exposures.

The course is DVD video-based with instructor-led discussion and simulation. Students will learn the PACT acronym and slogan which will help them learn and retain bloodborne pathogens training.

Each student receives the highest quality course materials (student workbook) to supplement their learning which includes information on bloodborne pathogens that the student can reference after the course.

The course can also be an efficient stand-alone course or as an add-on to CPR or First Aid training.

Delivery Format
The class is a traditional class style format with the use of the instructional DVD video and instructor-led discussion and simulation.

Course Length
The course usually takes about 1 to 1 and one-half hours to complete the instructional DVD video and course.

Intended Audience
This course is designed specifically for the workplace / health and safety market who must be trained annually in bloodborne pathogens. It is also targeted toward settings such as industry, Fortune 1500 companies, occupational health, property management, hospitality, security, and health and fitness staff.

Written Exam and Skills Session
Skills practice scenarios sessions and written exam with a Last Minute CPR & First Aid instructor.

Card Type and AHA Certification
AHA HEARTSAVER BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS course participation certificate will be issued when students successfully complete the course. This certificate has a 2 year expiration date.
